Marion Leleu
was born in 1972 in a musician family in Bretagne (France) and started to play viola and piano at four years old. She studied in CNSM Lyon (France) viola and choir-conducting and finished her study with excellent diploma.
In this time she founded the Rassaert-quartet, in wich she played five years and won several prizes. As a scholarship student from Société Générale in 1996 she went to Germany and started studying with Tabea Zimmermann. In the meantime she was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and substitute in the Staatskapelle Dresden.
After her study she won her first position as solo-viola in the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, then in the Hamburgische Staatsoper and later in the Kammerakademie Potsdam.

Parallel with this she developed her interest in small chamber music groups and worked as a teacher and a conductor. As a free artist she was a part of a lot of ensembles in the last years, like the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt/M., the Münchner Kammerorchester and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Along with this she offers master classes for string players.
As associate professor, she is in charge of the viola section in Landesjugendorchester Berlin and was invited as a conductor at the Matan-Festival in Israel (year 2006), leading a Youth Orchestra. 2007 she took part of the Weimar Master course with Günter Herbig and had occasion to conduct the Jenaer Philharmonik.
2004 - 2008 she was music director of the Kammerorchester Kirchrode (Hannover) and from 2005 on of the Wendland-Sinfonie-Orchesters. 2008 she was a guest-conductor for a season of the Brandenburg Kammerorchester. Marion Leleu was a conductor of the Rheinische Orchester Akademie in 2009.
At the moment Marion Leleu lives in Berlin like violist and conductor.
